Rospatent’s Search Platform has been providing open access to Russian and foreign patent and scientific‑technical information arrays for more than three years. It is a tool for inventors, companies, and research teams that enables them to independently conduct a preliminary assessment of the patentability of inventions and trademarks, without special training and completely free of charge. Today, users have access to a global data array comprising more than 100 million protection documents from around the world. In 2025, almost 5.5 million search queries were submitted via the platform, and about 2,000 people use the service every day. The modern Rospatent Search Platform features its own search assistant, image‑based search, search by text files, as well as the ability to use AI and automatic translation of queries, patents, and trademarks between Russian and six major European languages. Users can also take advantage of analytics tools to examine selected document sets across multiple parameters. To automate work with the patent collection, the Rospatent Search Platform provides access via an application programming interface (API). Rospatent notes that users can find any registered patent in the world and obtain the necessary information on all registered trademarks, service marks, well‑known trademarks, as well as international trademarks protected in the territory of the Russian Federation under the Madrid Agreement. It is possible to search certificates of registration for computer programs, databases, and topographies of integrated circuits, perform genetic search, search by classifiers, and explore statistics on patent data arrays. It appears that we are seeing an effective tool for technology companies and innovation teams focused on the global market and on systemic protection of intellectual property results, and work on further improving this tool is ongoing.
