Legal form: Economic cooperation association of constituent entities of the Russian Federation (governed by Federal Law dated December 17, 1999 No. 211-ФЗ “On General Principles of Organization and Activities of Economic Cooperation Associations of Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation”)
The Articles of association on the foundation of the Association of Innovative Regions of Russia was signed on May 21, 2010 in Tomsk during the XIII Innovation Forum Innovus.
The foundation of AIRR was supported by: The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration and Rusnano OJSC.
The list of the Association’s members includes:
Management bodies: Supervisory Board, The Association Council, Directorate.
Chairman of the Association Council - President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Chairman of the Association Council Rustam Minnikhanov, President, the Republic of Tatarstan.
Director of the Association Alexander Smekalin.
The purpose is to contribute to the efficient development of innovative member regions built on the recognition of various prevailing models of scientific and technological growth of regions.
The Association’s regions account for:
Over 300 innovative infrastructure facilities operate in the Association’s regions, including regional engineering centers, technoparks, industrial parks, business incubators, innovative territorial clusters and others that account for almost a half of all facilities operating in the Russian Federation.
